課程概述 |
In this course I will introduce the history of Buddhist arts and cultures spread in wide South (the original and Theravada Buddhism), Central (Mahayana Buddhism) and Southeast Asia (Mahayana and Theravada Buddhism) including Tibet (Vajrayana Buddhism) by showing of architectures, sculptures and paintings as an understanding way of Asian civilizations. |
課程目標 |
Buddhism was born in India and spread in wide area of Asia. By this basic historical fact, it is clear that Buddhism is not a religion of certain country. Unfortunately this basic knowledge of Buddhism is not common cense in Taiwan. Therefore, the target of this course is basic understanding of the Buddhist arts and culture as visible element of a global religion for understanding of Asian civilizations. |
課程要求 |
Students who will attend in this course are required basic human geographical knowledge of Asian region by English, such as name of countries, dynasties and monuments of World Cultural Heritage. At least, memorize basic knowledge of this field in high school lever. |
